Rebuilding Kutch
As the people of an entire region flattened by a devastating earthquake in 2001 sought to rebuild their shattered lives, GJNRF stood by them reconstructing educational institutions, medical facilities and even some entire villages.
Aiding the Widows of War
The Kargil War of 1999 turned many women into widows tasked with raising children all on their own. GJNRF responded with multiple projects – direct assistance to the affected families; the Diamond AWWA hostel for children pursuing higher studies, computer centres, scholarships and more.
Reaching Out to the Workforce
When the world was rocked by the financial crisis of 2008-09, GJNRF reached out to the affected workers of the diamond industry. Ration kits, educational aid and even support for short-term home-based employment projects went a long way in helping thousands of families survive.
